This week started off great then fatigue set in and I went off track for a bit and got off my schedule... but I caught myself! I share this because this is real life. It happens. We tire out, have too many distractions, try to meet the world's demands and lose focus. There are several accomplishments that took place this week and several learning moments...
The Accomplishments
-
I got my blog started. You are reading it.
-
I continued to use my Calendar App efficiently. Got into scheduling 5-10 minute meetings which made me extremely efficient. You realize how much you can do!
-
I stayed on schedule Sunday-Thursday (Evening)
-
I ordered and received Audio Equipment for a personal project (Podcast...) Exciting!
-
I slept 5 hours as planned and didn't snooze my alarm at all this week.
-
I went to the gym 3 times as I planned.
-
I attended weekly mass and made time to pray everyday.
-
I met with friends for lunch. (And meeting with a couple of friends in about an hour to wrap up the week with dinner and a good time)
-
I spent some good time with Bella/Cassy free of distractions.
The Learning Moments
-
Limit Social Media Time (It's designed to distract and draw you in. It happened to me.)
-
Morning Routine needs help. Some days started off solid and others got off track for a bit. I need a real solid start to my day.
-
Evening Routine needs to include Self-Examination time to see progress on my 8 goals daily. Benjamin Franklin had a similar discipline. It worked for him and it will work for me.
-
Schedule on Calendar App needs to be keyed 90% on Sundays. I was keying some of it in at nights as I went through the days just in case unexpected things came up but I realized if I am controlled by the unexpected things I will not control my time.
-
The Gym - It needs to be priority. I feel great when I go and I get energy but my body didn't want to go one of the days. I forced it to go. Key learning is... this will continue to be a battle for a bit. I need to just go and show up even if my weak flesh doesn't want to show up.
-
The Flesh is Weak. The Spirit is Strong. My flesh was weak on Thursday Night and crashed out on me! lol. I laugh now but I was fatigued and I didn't get what I planned to get done last night. It then carried into Friday. I was dragging. I had a weak schedule planned on Friday. Then I Caught Myself. It took me back to a quote that I heard Terry Crews share on a podcast interview with Tim Ferris. That is...
"GOD WILL NOT HAVE HIS WORK MADE MANIFEST BY COWARDS." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am human and I lose focus. I’ll get back on it a lot stronger. Have a Blessed Weekend!
